designDATA Announces the Successful Completion
of SOC1-SSAE 16 Audit

Gaithersburg, MD, August 9, 2017 – designDATA, a leading IT services company serving the Washington, DC metro area announced today the successful completion of our fifth annual SOC1-SSAE 16 audit. The audit covers the one year period ending May 31, 2017.

Congratulations to the designDATA team for successfully completing the 2016SOC 1 -SSAE 16 Type II Audit. The audit covered our data center, operations, SysAdmin, monitoring, and IT services teams. Conducted by an independent service auditing firm, a SOC 1-SSAE-16 type II audit reports on the description of a service organization’s system and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls. The independent auditor examined our setup for processing users’ transactions, and examined how closely the design of our systems are complementing and achieving our objectives of security and controls.

“We are proud of our designDATA team for once again successfully completing the audit,” said Matt Ruck, Vice President of designDATA. “It is our mission to make sure we stay in compliance so that our customers know we are committed to keeping their security our top priority”.

We provided a rigorous set of control objectives and identified risks that threatened the realization of these security goals; then we created a set of criteria to implement to achieve these goals. The independent auditors conducted this examination using the attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. At the end of this period, designDATA was summarily evaluated and passed without a single exception to any of our controls. This is our fifth consecutive year conducting this audit and our fifth perfect result.

Completing this audit involved a lot of time and effort from our teams, particularly the SysAdmin and IT Architecture groups. Our success would not be possible without their enthusiasm and hard work. We would also like to thank our datacenter partner: ByteGrid, as well as our fiber optic and metro ethernet connectivity partners: Zayo Group and Allied Telecom.
