Barracuda Quarantine Notifications service interruption 📣

Jason Stroud, Deputy Director of Infrastructure Services

Update 11/12/2021 @ 4:45pm Eastern

Barracuda has addressed the configuration issue with quarantine notifications. In many cases customers’ settings have been reverting to their state prior to the outage. designDATA engineers are currently performing verification checks to ensure all settings have reverted back. If not they are manually reconfiguring the settings and will be done by COB today.

To ensure you don’t miss any quarantined messages, through this afternoon, please continue to check for quarantined messages directly on the Barracuda ESS portal. You can access the portal without login from the “VIEW MESSAGE LOG” link in a digest received within the last seven days – or you can login directly at https://ess.barracudanetworks.com by entering your email address, clicking Next, and entering your Barracuda ESS password.

If you do not remember your ESS password, the “Send login details” link will send an email to your mailbox to reset your account. Finally, you can call your customer-specific Service Desk number and one of our End User Support engineers can assist you with login.

We expect digest delivery to resume fully across all customers, starting this evening for users with customized delivery schedules. All other users should receive a digest at their next scheduled first delivery of the day.

Barracuda’s Email Security Service – junk email filter and security scanning service – is having a network-wide service interruption.

It has come to our attention that daily quarantine notifications, sometimes called quarantine digest emails, are not currently being sent.

We have engaged Barracuda’s support team and are working with them to resolve this issue. This issue does not affect mail flow.

While digest delivery is not available, users should check for quarantined messages directly on the Barracuda ESS portal.
