Existing System Assessment and Requirements AnalysisKEEPING PACE WITH CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY REQUIRES AN ON-GOING FINANCIAL INVESTMENT AS WELL AS A FIRM COMMITMENT TO INCREMENTAL CHANGE AND ALL THAT IT ENTAILS. designDATA can effectively assist your organization in the requirements analysis process by examining your current systems. A designDATA Requirements Analysis has three major phases. The first phase provides a clear and accurate picture of your current situation, both from the standpoint of technology and of workflow. The second phase analyzes how requirements are being managed by the current systems and processes. The outcome of the second phase is a Requirements Analysis document that measures the gap between what the systems and processes do and what they should be doing under ideal conditions. During the third phase of the project, designDATA assists you in setting priorities for re-engineering business processes and upgrading systems that will essentially close the gap between what is and what should be within a workable timeframe. While the Requirements Analysis is useful in and of itself, it is most often commissioned by our clients as the baseline study required by the IT strategic planning process and, in many cases, the system selection and acquisition process. Either way, the Requirements Analysis process is an essential component of proper IT planning and management. Protecting your technology investment becomes a matter of purchasing cost-effective products, and products with longest possible lifcycle; properly charting your organizations future course, and taking into account your strategic plan as well as growth and change. |
